strawberrychia1
Strawberry-Chia Margarita Sorbet (Spiked soft serve)

The chia seeds not only add nutrition, but create a cute illusion that makes the sorbet look like the outside of a seedy strawberry. You can use different flavors of commercial kombucha to create unique flavor twists on this recipe.

Ingredients

2 cups frozen strawberries
¾ cup kombucha (unflavored)
? cup tequila
? cup agave nectar*
? cup fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon Navitas Naturals Maqui Powder (optional)
2 tablespoon Navitas Naturals Chia Seeds

Instructions

    1. In a blender, process the frozen strawberries, kombucha, tequila, agave, lime juice and optional maqui powder into a smooth mixture. Add the chia seeds and blend briefly just to mix, but leaving the chia seeds whole. Pour the mixture into a sealable container and freeze for 4–6 hours, or overnight, until frozen through.

Notes

    • *Agave is a great (and traditional) sweetener to use in margaritas, but if a lower-sugar version is desired, stevia may be substituted for part or all of the syrup. Sweeten to a level that is slightly oversweet before freezing. The less agave is used, the more icy (and less soft) the ending sorbet will be.

Maqui Banana Smoothie

This Maqui Banana Smoothie recipe beautifies your skin from the inside out. Maqui is considered a beauty food, due to its high level of skin-healthy anthocyanins—the antioxidants that give it that deep purple color.

2¼ cups coconut milk (boxed variety)
1 tablespoon Navitas Naturals Maqui Berry Powder
1 tablespoon Navitas Naturals Chia Seeds
Sweetener, to taste (optional)

Instructions

superfoodseebar
Superfood Seed Bars
Makes 16 bars

This nut-free, mineral-rich bar is just heavenly. It contains some all-star superfoods held together with creamy tahini and coconut oil. High in protein, zinc, calcium and essential fatty acids, this makes a great post-workout or anytime snack that is not too sweet. Be careful you don’t overdo it with this one. It’s hard to stop with just one.

Ingredients

½ cup coconut nectar*
? cup raw tahini
¼ cup coconut oil, warmed to liquid
1 vanilla bean, scraped, or pinch of vanilla powder
1 cup pumpkin seeds
1 cup sunflower seeds
½ cup Navitas Naturals Goji Berries
½ cup shredded coconut
¼ cup black sesame seeds
¼ cup Navitas Naturals Cacao Nibs
¼ cup Navitas Naturals Hemp Seeds
Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Blend coconut nectar, tahini, coconut oil and vanilla until smooth, and set aside.
  2. In a medium-sized mixing bowl combine remaining dry ingredients. Add in coconut nectar mixture and mix well, using your hands. I recommend wearing gloves. It’ll be pretty sticky.
  3. Take half of the mixture and place in a food processor. Process until mixture breaks down into very small pieces.
  4. Transfer back to the mixing bowl and combine with remaining mixture, using your hands.
  5. Press into an 8? x 8? pan lined with parchment paper or plastic wrap and place in the freezer until firm. About 30–60 minutes.
  6. Cut bars into desired pieces and store in the refrigerator or in the freezer if you like them chewier.

Notes

    • Will keep for one to two months in the refrigerator or freezer.

    • This recipe calls for low-glycemic coconut nectar, but you can use yacon syrup, maple syrup or agave if you can’t find it in your area.
